The Ikawa Ryokan in Hiroshima offered a unique experience with its traditional Japanese setup. The futons felt comfortable on tatami floors. The location couldn't be better. Just a short walk to the Peace Park and local shops. I really appreciated the cleanliness of the shared bathrooms. The staff were eager to help, especially with recommendations around the area. I found the shared dining space a bit limiting was nice. The communal bath could have used a cleaner tub for more reassurance. It was a good stay, blending comfort with cultural immersion.

Very clean. Free tea and coffee in foyer. Wifi worked well.
Wifi only in foyer area, making it difficult to Skype without annoying others.

We loved the location! It's just a short walk to Peace Park and nearby shops. Our family room was spacious. Plus, they were accommodating with our service dog.
In my wife's opinion, a kids' play area would be great.

The location is perfect for visiting the Peace Park and the shopping area. Our room was clean and traditional, with comfy futons. Staff were friendly and provided helpful recommendations. Don't forget to check out the bakery nearby for delicious treats!
The only downside was that there was no dedicated dining area for our meals, a bit tricky to enjoy our food together.
